Accommodation spasm, treatment, spherical positive eyeglasses.

ABSTRACT

Accommodation spasm is presented in a wide spectrum of manifestations, attributing a functional origin and being related to organic illnesses. Multiple treatment has been proposed, nevertheless not a consensus about the most effective method exists.
We describe two female cases with this pathology, of similar ages that are presented to the consultation with bad visual acuity and that in the apparent refraction they show negative spheres that differ significantly of the cicloplejic refraction. They were treated favorably with spherical positive eyeglasses.
