valvular region, sutures anchored.

ABSTRACT

Background: The inadequate suture of the surgical wounds used in particular in the approaching of the nasal surgery at level of the valvular region can cause stenosis or retract areas. The suture technique anchored at level of the valvular region offers and allows the opening of the nasal valve controlling the scaring vectors.
Objective: To present the technique of anchored suture of hemitransfixion and intercartilaginous incisions for the handling of the valvular region.
Material and methods: A descriptive, observational, and trasversal study was carried out; we obtained results of 250 patients that were included, with rhinoseptumplasty in whom the technique of anchorage of the valvular region was used with absorbible sutures. It is presented the characteristics of the technique used and the advantages that it offers graphically.
Results: None patient had surgical wound infection, surgical wound dehiscence, hematomas or another collection (serosa).
Conclusions: The anchorage of sutures in the valvular region offers an useful method to close the incisions of type hemitransfixion, and intercartilaginous with a satisfactory result for keeping in a unique place the manipulated nasal structures, and thanks to the scaring vectors that it allows; it favors the opening valvular region avoiding retraction areas or valvular stenosis.
