Mixed astigmatism, positive cylinder, cross cylinder.

ABSTRACT

We studied two different approaches for the treatment for mixed astigmatism: the positive cylinder and cross cylinder techniques and we compared it with statistical analysis. We reviewed 32 eyes of 23 patients and recorded their visual acuity at 1, 7, 30, 90 and 180 days after surgery and compared both techniques with statistical analysis. We found no statistical differences between these two techniques analyzing the final visual acuity, the spherical equivalent and stromal ablation. We conclude that both techniques are safe and perform a stable visual acuity and can be used for the treatment for mixed astigmatism.
