ABSTRACT

Introduction: Intestinal duplication is an uncommon malformation which causes a variety of symptoms; however, acute abdomen is a rare complication. Intestinal rupture is the most frequent complication, but volvulus is extremely rare.
Case report: A 6 year old boy presented with intestinal obstruction. At laparotomy a jejunal duplication was found and resection and primary anastomosis were performed. Associated anomalies were an anocutaneous fistula and agenesis of the kidney. The child is in good health.
