ABSTRACT
Attention is a cerebral neurocognitive state of preparation which precedes perception, intention and action. The Nervous Central System focuses our conscience selectively to filter the constant flow of sensorial information, solve the competence between stimuli to process at the same time, involve and activate the brain zones to measure the appropriate responses. In this investigation we carry out an experimental study in order to prove how a system of therapeutic and cognitive activities influences the correction and/or compensation of the attention deficits in patients with static encephalic lesions. This system was applied in a group of 15 patients with a period of two cycles, a daily frequency of two hours and a time of evolution of the disease from six months to five years characterized by affectation in the psychic processes. Neuropsychological tests were employed at the beginning and end of the treatment to assess diagnostic and evolution. The results showed improvement in the reaction time, amount of target detection and the missing targets diminished. A non parametrical test (Wilcoxon) was applied obtaining statistical significance at p ‹ 0.01. The system of therapeutic activities was applied successfully and influenced positively in the correction and/or compensation of attention as a special process.REFERENCES
