ABSTRACT

Our purpose with this article is to describe the principal echographic findings of fibrous osteoma with orbital extension.
This is a forty-years old patient with fibrous osteoma with orbital extension which diagnosis was realized with clinical, echographic, tomographic and pathological characteristics. With the B scan ultrasound we found an image of a solid mass, with poorly defined borders, very irregular and dense anterior surface and great sound attenuation. In the standardized A scans is seen like an image with an anterior border with a very high reflectivity and great sound attenuation, without internal vascularity. We discuss the ultrasonographic findings and review the literature of this pathology.
