ABSTRACT

Between April 1995 and June 1997 were performed 7 thoracoscopic procedures in patients that required an anterior release of longitudinal ligament an disc resection through the thorax: 2 Idiopatic Scoliosis, 1 Paralitic Scoliosis, 1 Congenital Scoliosis, 1 Axonal Giant Desease, 1 Scheuermann Desease and 1 Discitis by Salmonella T11-T12. The patients with spine deformities after the thoracoscopic liberation were subjected to a spine instrumentation. With an average correction of the curve in Scoliosis patients of 41°, Kyphosis with an average correction of 33°, with an average age at the moment of the surgery of 14 years and with a vital capacity of 78%. The patient with discitis of Salmonella T11-T12 was subjected to a discectomy due to the continuos pain after the antibotic treatment.
