ABSTRACT

The female urethral diverticulum is an infrequent noseologic entity, which constitutes the cause of a varied low urinary symptomatology in women, with a chronic course on many occasions. Three patients with a diagnosis of urethral diverticulum as much by their clinical manifestations as by the transvaginal ultrasonography are presented. The vaginal excision of the diverticulum was performed on all of them having a satisfactory evolution. It was shown that this is a pathology we have to think more frequently about as the female urological morbidity cause, and the transvaginal ultrasonography is an excellent imagenologic means to ensure its positive diagnosis, topographic localization and postoperative evolutionary follow-up.
