ABSTRACT

This guide consists of a brief description of the pregnancy with congenital defect; its incidence in Mexico and in the Instituto Nacional de Perinatología; and the psychological factors associated to this, inside which a description of the emotional impact is made in the woman and in its couple, the emotional manifestations and aspects of the psychological attention presented in the perinatal bereavement, the pattern of psychological intervention with its objectives and the description of its stages, as well as the handling of the complicated bereavement.
