ABSTRACT

Purpose: To evaluate the confocal microscopy findings in patients with previous clinical diagnosis of corneal granular dystrophy.
Methods: An in vivo confocal microscopy studies were taken in 6 eyes of 3 patients with previous clinical diagnosis of corneal granular dystrophy.
Results: Different shapes of stromal deposits were found from 86.83 (± 9.91µ) to 322.50 (± 42.20µ) mean depth. Deposits dimensions were at the highest longitude of 148.08 µ (± 60.67) and the lowest of 148.08 µ (± 60.67). Corneal stroma surrounding those deposits was normal.
Conclusion: It is possible to evaluate and analyze stromal deposits in corneal granular dystrophy by using in vivo confocal microscopy.
