ABSTRACT

Dysphonia is any alteration on acoustic quality of voice. Hypo or hyperkinetic dysphonia do not manifest laryngeal complications. Hypokinetic dysphonia is the result of an excessive pressure below glottis by means of excessive effort, and as a protective measure of the vocal folds, there is a lower amount of air on larynx, clinically represented as lower, weak voice, or aphonia. Hyperkinetic dysphonia is the result of excessive tension on vocal folds, clinically represented as voice with low tone, nasal resonance, lower intensity, and in last instance glottic attack.
