ABSTRACT

Today, feminine sterility has become a public health issue because of the increase of cases compiled plus the growth in absolute numbers, giving a 40 % of men, 50 % of women, and 10 % to mixed or unknown factors. Regardless of its origin, women are reported to present more psychological symptoms related to their infertility situation. Creating specific intervention plans is important to increase the efficacy and efficiency of the psychotherapy of sterile women. An Intervention Model through different levels is proposed. The first part is the psychological orientation for those patients who haven’t developed any symptoms yet; the second one is the approach of Group Therapy from an Institutional point of view, targeting women whose treatment process has affected their psychological sphere.
