Theca-lutein cyst, pregnancy.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To know one of the benign ovarian tumors that complicate pregnancy.
Case: A 40 years old women, with 29 weeks gestation and ovarian bilateral adnexal mass presenting preterm labor. Ultrasound with possible partial hydatidiform mole and multilobulated shaped like ovaries. Cesarean section was performed finding both ovaries multilobulated of approximately 20 cm of diameter corresponding to theca lutein cysts. Pathology reported pregnancy without evidence of molar gestation. Surveillance to the mother and the newborn without any further complications.
Conclusion: In the evidence of an adnexal mass and pregnancy, opportune differential diagnosis must be established. According to the ethiology of this clinical entity, it has been documented that expectant management follows to spontaneous resolution of the cysts and that these rarely present sequels on the mother and the feminine fetus.
