ABSTRACT

A study was completed on 46 healthy with normal demographic characteristics volunteers averaging 19 years old ranging between 18 and 22 years old. The volunteers are students of medicine from “Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México” (UNAM). During the study it was measured in parallel the arterial pressures and the heart frequency during 24 hours. The measures were made individually and personally every three hours under normal activities starting at 8:00 hours. The arterial pressure and heart rate were used to determine the medium pressure and heart work. The arterial pressures, heart rate, medium pressure and heart work were then analyzed. Based on the result it was three different levels of circadian rhythm or sinusoidal behaviors: 1) High fit to a sinusoidal oscillation; eight cases. 2) Moderate fit to a sinusoidal oscillation; thirty-one cases. 3) Without sinusoidal oscilliation; seven cases. In general, it was observed that circadian oscillation of the systemic pressure increase in the morning averaging 3.3 mmHg, between 8:00 am and 14:00 hours, and a decrease at night averaging 10.6 mmHg between 23:00 and 5:00 am. In addition, the diastolic pressure was observed was more stable than the systemic arterial pressure. The work heart and the medium pressure decreased between 23:00 and 5:00 hours, averaging 8 mmHg and 1,497 mmHg/lat/min and 8 mmHg respectively. In conclusion, the circadian rhythm of the systemic arterial, pressure of perfusion (medium pressure) and the heart work in our study on younger people than 20 years old are similar those found it in the literature in healthy adults that initiated the ageing in the cardiovascular process.
