ABSTRACT

Objective: To inform the case of a patient with a pancreatic metastasis, secondary to a kidney adenocarcinoma treated 10 years before.
Setting: Third level health care hospital.
Description of the case: A man of 88 years of age who had the antecedent of a left nephrectomy performed 10 years before due to a renal adenocarcinoma of clear cells. He come to his annual check-up without symptoms and the ultrasound reveals a hypoechoic image of smooth well-defined borders at the tail of the pancreas. He was subjected to a dynamic pancreatography, which identified a nodular image of 2.7 cm in the tail of the pancreas: the remainder of the gland and the abdominal cavity depicted no alterations. He was subjected to surgery, performing a distal pancreatectomy and splenectomy. Histopathological diagnosis: Metastasis of clear cells adenocarcinoma permeating to lymphatic vessels. Spleen without alterations.
