ABSTRACT

An infant case with dilated myocardiopathy due to aortic coarctation is reported. This clinical case is presented in order to emphasize the importance of an early diagnosis and the opportune treatment of these patients; a delay in the reparation of this cardiac anomaly is cause of a severe left ventricular dilatation and heart failure, making difficult its diagnosis.
