ABSTRACT

The present work is about the drawings of the eye and its different structures, drawings for the book «De humani corporis fabrica» from Andres Vesalio. Vesalio is considered the father of modern anatomy. Most of his anatomical studies were done using human corpses, but those concerning the eye are believed to have been made using eyes of cows. Therefore, it is interesting to know the anatomical concepts prevailing in the Renaissance, as well as the description of the different structures that make up the eye, and the similarities between the human eye and the eye of a cow.
