ABSTRACT

Acute hemolytic reaction is secondary to destruction of blood cells within the first 24 hours after transfusion, generality to the administration of red cell concentrates and whole blood. This article describes the incidence pathophysiology, clinical presentation, and the diagnosis and treatment.
