ABSTRACT

Models and Theories of Nursing and the Nursing Care Process (PCN) have provided the identity and profession a scientific character, setting as the sole object of study health care of the person, family or community. he increasing number of cardiovascular surgery requiring sternotomy has been only partially limited by its complications. Of these post-surgical mediastinitis (MPQ) is one of the most serious because of its high rate of morbidity and mortality. Its treatment usually demands additional surgical procedures in addition to costly and prolonged antimicrobial therapy in hospital which causes a severe impact on the biopsychosocial field of patients and their families.
