ABSTRACT

Dermoscopy is a non-invasive technique that is used as an auxiliary diagnostic procedure in alopecia. Dermoscopy findings in alopecia areata which supports the diagnosis are yellow dots, black dots, tapering hairs, broken hairs and short vellus hairs. This article discusses the findings in alopecia areata using a dermoscope and shows some examples.
