Key words: Aortic coarctation, arterial hypertension, congenital heart disease. ABSTRACT The definition of aortic coarctation it’s referring to a narrowing of the artery, causing an obstruction of the blood flow. A 36 years old man came to the hospital with a diagnostic of arterial hypertension and difficult control with multiple antihypertensive therapy. An echocardiography study just reports hypertensive cardiopathy, left ventricle with concentric hypertrophy without mobility alterations, EF 69% and no evidence of aortic coarctation. The cardiac catheterization show the aortic coarctation type II with a postductal obstruction of 100% and many collaterals branches. The patient is sent to cardiac surgery, finding a severe aortic coarctation yuxta-ligament arteriosus with a 100% occlusion (Type II), without hole in the coarctation site and a great collateral artery net. The procedure was an anastomosis termino-lateral from the subclavian artery to descendent aorta without complications. REFERENCES Morríss MJH, McNamara D.
