ABSTRACT

Central venous catheter associated bacteremia is a complication related to several risk factors including the catheter insertion site. We present a clinical case of a 25-year-old male with chronic renal insufficiency that underwent a peripherally inserted central catheter placement via right basilic vein leading to catheter-associated bacteremia.
