ABSTRACT

Dr. Max Shein trained as a pediatrician in Mexico and in hospitals in the United States. He taught clinical pediatrics for 17 years at the Faculty of Medicine at the UNAM, and is known for founding private institutions, such as directing the establishment of the Private Children’s Hospital and the Pediatric Medical Group A.C. Also, he is a leading figure at Mexico’s ABC Hospital. A historian of pediatrics, he has written important works on that field. Dr. Shein is a great philanthropist and humanist with interests in the arts; a generous man with a wide intellectual curiosity in whom children see a childhood friend.
