ABSTRACT
In 1942, Stafne first reported a bony cavity located under the mandibular nerve, between the first molar and the angle of the mandible, it was defined radiographically as a radiolucent area of circular or ovoid, well circumscribed predominantly in asymptomatic males between the fifth and seventh decade of life. Some synonyms used to describe this lesion include: idiopathic bone defect, aberrant cyst cavity or ectopic salivary gland. We report two cases with Stafne’s bone cavity valued at Hospital General «Dr. Darío Fernández Fierro», ISSSTE.
