ABSTRACT

The fibromyxoma of mandible condyle is a rare benign neoplasm, considered aggressive by it’s local invasiveness, has a controversial mesenchymal origin, is considered namesake of myxoma and has a slight predilection for females. Is associated to areas with adjacent tooth structure, and it’s most frequent location it’s the posterior mandibular region has also been reported although it’s appearance in edentulous areas like condyle, ramus, symphysis and coronoid process. It represents 3 to 6% of all odontogenic tumors. It has been reported a high degree of recurrence attributable to inadequate tumor excision as well as local infiltration. We present a case report and surgical- medical management of 34 years male patient with a tumor of 12 years of evolution.
