ABSTRACT
The magnitude of the risk problem in anesthesia or morbidity of local anesthetics administered in dentistry is 3.5 to 5.7% and the risk of death due to anesthesia is about 1:10,000. Perhaps the most insidious hazard of anesthesia is its relative safety. No reasonable anesthetist or dentists can argue that deaths and morbidity are not due to errors, lapses or prevention failures.
