ABSTRACT

The usefulness of occlusal indexes in research, decision making, and assessing orthodontic treatment need is well accepted internationally. The aim of this study was to use the Dental Aesthetic Index (DAI) to determinate the severity of malocclusions and orthodontic treatment need in students attending to Popular Urban Health Center for a clinical examination to access to junior and senior high school on summer 2007, with this purpose, it was development a format for the analysisi of the 10 index components.
