ABSTRACT

Introduction: The archwires of nickel titanium have revolutionized the orthodontics treatments for what is necessary to know their superelasticity properties and form memory. El purpose of the present study it was to investigate the different characteristics of the Angle Deformation-Torque Diagram according to the norm ASTM E8-04, E21-05. Materials and methods: archwires NiTi round Superelástics of 0.014 inches (n=10 archwires Sentalloy of GAC like group A and n=10 archwires NiTi Cu of ORMCO like group B) on approval torsion with a longitude of tests tu be of 5mm that is the distance interbracket average, to a temperature of 37°C to simulate the temperature of the buccal cavity. The torsion test was carried out in Digital Torsiometer SM1 MK II TQ which registered the rotation grades and torque in which were analyzed the area: elastic, plastic and of rupture. Results: In the study of the Diagram Angle Deformation-Torque it was determined by means of the statistical analysis t student it was of p › 0.05 therefore didn´t have significant differences between both groups. Conclusion: the so much arches of the group A as of B they experienced similar properties according to the present study
