ABSTRACT

The importance of specific isolation precautions to prevent transmission of infections, has been established; however new pathogens and outbreaks have caused some confusion. For this reason Nosocomial Infections Committee in association with the Epidemiology Service conducted a review of existing information and unified criteria to implement special precautions against prevalent infectious diseases seen at the National Institute of Pediatrics.
