Mediastinal tumours with obstruction of right ventricular out flow tract. A report of two cases

ABSTRACT

Mediastinal masses are relatively frequent in childhood, primary tumors represent approximately 50% of all mediastinal masses and can be classified according its location. Some tumors could cause obstruction of right ventricular outflow tract which is a cause of acquired pulmonic stenosis. We present two patients with anterior mediastinal mass and pulmonary stenosis secondary to obstruction by the tumor, the diagnosis of this patients could be made by transthoracic echocardiography so this study will be indicated in patients with evident mediastinal masses and pulmonary systolic murmur.
