ABSTRACT

Introduction: Wilm´s tumor is the most frecuent infancy malign kidney tumor, counting from 5 to 7% from pediatric age neoplasies. With actual treatment, the surviving reaches 90%. Minimal invasion surgery roll in malign tumor treatment from infancy has become the most recently incorporated to this kind of illness approach. We present Mexico´s firt case of laparoscopic nephroureterectomy for nephroblastoma.
Case study: Three year old female with hematury and confined right kidney tumor identification by ultrasonography and computed tomography scan. A laparoscopic nephroureterectomy was performed using 4 trocars two from 10 mm, and two from 5 mm, using an andobag fro extraction by a limited Pffanenstiel insicion. Oral feeding were restarted in the first 6 hours and patient was discharged from hospital 24 hours from operated. Hystopatological result was triphasic Wilms tumor without anaplasy within intact capsule. Patient underwent chemotherapy for 4 cycles of treatment with asintomatic outcome and no recurrency evidence of tumor at one year of followup.
Discussion: Wilms tumor treatment is multimodal, although surgery still being the main part of the treatment. Open surgical treatment goal are successfully reproduced on minimal invasion surgery in selectad cases.
