ABSTRACT
The lumbar pain syndrome is one of disorders of the musculoskeletal system that appears with more frequency on the adult population in which is reported a incidence between 80 and 90% which 30% of this corresponds to degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis. Objective: Determine the effectivity of the exercises proposed by Rittenberg, on the management of the patient diagnosed with systematized degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis comparing them with the Williams exercises. Material and methods: Controlled clinical trial, randomized, prospective, longitudinal. The study was applied on patients older tan 50 years old, with diagnostics through IRM for those who hadn’t been operated by this pathology. Results: There were evaluated a total of 74 patients who were divided in 2 groups: Williams exercises control and study group. It was evaluated by Shoeber test for thoracolumbar mobility, Lumbar functionality with Oswestry, life quality with questionary of SF-36 health, on an operative form, before and after treatment through 20 session, and in form of intergroup with better results on all the analyzed test for the study group. Conclusions: The Rittenberg exercises proved been more effective on patients with diagnostic of systematized degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis, showing a superior improvement that patients treated with Williams exercises.REFERENCES
