ABSTRACT

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a multisystemic and hereditary disorder caused by mutations in cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator gen. CF leads to pathological changes in different organs that include secretory cells, lungs, pancreas, liver and reproductive tract. These modifications produce a diverse spectrum of clinical presentations and complications that require an aggressive and multidisciplinary intervention. Life expectative of patients with this disease has been greatly increased over past decades because of better notions of symptomatic treatment strategies.
