ABSTRACT

Emphysematous cystitis is a rare infectious disease characterized by the presence of gas in the bladder opening and wall. It is a low-incidence pathology that generallypresents in diabetic patients. Its presentation can range from the asymptomatic patient to a critical state of septic shock. Diagnosis is generally made through laboratory and radiological studies. The present article presents specific, typical images of a case of emphysematous cystitis in a diabetic patient.
