ABSTRACT

Introduction. Infantile hypertrophic pyloric stenosis is a relatively common condition affecting infants under one year of age. No genetic factor has been indentified, although familial incidence occurs in approximately 15% of the cases. It is more common in offspring of mothers who had pyloric stenosis. We studied a family from the town of Comonfort, Guanajuato in which seven of its members had hypertrophic pyloric stenosis. All were successfully operated with a Fredet-Ramstedt procedure. We present their genealogic tree.
