Child trauma, childhood injuries.

ABSTRACT

Mandibular fractures in childhood are injuries that commonly involve temporomandibular joint and condilar areas, and the mean age is above five years old. There is a very low incidence of mandibular body injuries in children during first year of life, and this may have two principal reasons: the main composition of bone, which makes it very elastic, and the 24 hours supervision of parents at this age. We present a case about an 8 months old girl with a right parasymphyseal fracture.
