Reaction to third molars surgery about pH, bacteries and exfoliative citology used, chlorexidine, povidone-Iodine and chloride of benzalconium

ABSTRACT

Objective: to investigate answer in pH, bacterial and cytology to different antiseptics in odontectomies of third molars. Material and method: Were valued by means of clinical histories completes 130 referred cases to bucal surgery of the faculty of odontolgy (F:O) of the Universidad Autonoma del Estado de Mexico (UAEM) to carry out odontectomies to them of third molars, applying to them during the antisepsis: Clorhexidine (CHX) to the 0.12%, Iodopovidona to the 0,8%, Chloride of Benzalconio (Benzal) to 1:1000, evaluating answers in microbiota, pH and cytology to retromolar in phases preantisepsis, postantisepsis, postoperative immediate and postoperative to 3-5 days. Results: pH7 predominate in global in postantisepsis, the lots control, Iodine conserved pH7, the CHX of 7,5 and the Benzal 6,0 in cytological study in phase preantisepsis the 63.8% was class I, in postantisepsis the 51,5% were class II, in postoperative immediate 70% were class I and in postoperative to 72 hours the 72.3% were class II. In bacteriological the flora it was of 23 types, became infected the 9.2 % and of these the Benzal had the 66,6%. Conclusions: the Benzal acidifies the wounds, the CHX the alkalinized, the frequent bacteria were streptococcus and staphylococcus, the less effective antiseptic was the Benzal, and cytology study predominated class II.
