ABSTRACT
Lipoma is a benign neoplasia of specialized connective tissue of the adipose tissue. It is the most frequent benign neoplasia in body however it is not so frequent in oral cavity. The clinical aspect of a lipoma is soft, yellow colored and has well delimited borders. Histologically it has variations such as angiolipoma, mixoid lipoma, fibrolipoma, spindle cell lipoma, pleomorphic lipoma and intramuscular lipoma. Clinical Case: A 50-year-old man, with a long time evolution lesion and with differential diagnosis of mucocele or benign salivary glands tumor. An excisional biopsy was performed and the histopathological diagnosis was lipoma. Discussion: lipomas are not very frequent in the oral cavity, that is the reason why all auxiliary methods in diagnosis must be used in order to perform the best treatment.REFERENCES
