ABSTRACT

The “International Conference on Primary Care of Health “, realized in Alma Ata, Kasajistan organized by the WHO in 1978, mentioned the mother - infantile as prior assistance, since the stage of major morbi-mortality in the human being, is the period perinatal. A challenge at the time, it is to detect and to handle opportunely the risk in this stage. According to a study, between (among) 1996 and 1997, high effect of morbidity existed perinatal and mother in the condition(state) of Veracruz. The medical equipment(team) of external consultation of the Hospital School of Gynaecology and Obstetrics of the University Veracruzana, was lacking some system to detect and to evaluate risk perinatal. To contribute(pay) to the decrease of prenatal and mother morbi-mortality, one took to end in this Hospital, between November, 1998 and March, 1999, a program of intervention for the opportune identification of factors of risk. There was used a tool elaborated by the CIMIGen, known as Semaphore of Risk, system of questions simple and specific, classified under three levels. The medical personnel of prenatal consultation, qualified, pilot took to himself to end a test (proof) and the information was analyzed periódicamente. His (her, your) application facilitated the early identification of the risk in pregnant women, appearing factors, alone or associate of medium risk, with major frequency, nevertheless, the attention of the doctor avoided to transform in high risk. Urinary active infections, important factor associated with childbirths of pretérmino, products of low weight and abortion, were present with high frequency. 17.8 % of efficiency was reached in view of the number of modified factors.
