Physiologic, psychologic and cultural factors of the rehabilitation in menopause

ABSTRACT

Introduction: In the ninety decade the interest in the knowledge of physiologic, psychologic and cultural factors in climateric women has increase (Hemmninki 1992). Methods: We studied 27 women from 45 to 55 years old, we evaluated postural defects, myofascial and osteoarticular pain, psychologic social and cultural factors. Results: Osteoarticular pain was positive in 100% myofascial pain in 100%, postural defects 100%, difficulties in their couple relationship in 98.2%, an in their relationship with sons 54%. Work interrelations were altered in 32%. Unknowledge about menopause in 96%. No elaboration of curriculum vitae in 99.6%, body language, clouthing and verbal interview was altered in 100%, unknowledge, physiological depression in 89%, conductal cognition in 25.7%, motor 35.3%. Rejection of sexual relations 67.1%, diminish of sexual appetite 89%, sexual pleasure 96.3%. Alteration in cognotives responses 100%. Statistics: Frequencies analysis. Discussion: Hormonal changes produces vasomotor and temperature alterations, fatigue. The stress, depresion that is consisten with lost feminity and reprodution capacity, lost of job, low quality of marital life Balliger 1985, Mickinlay 1987. Conclusion: Rehabilitation in menopause requires attention in postural changes, diminishing pain, orientation in sexual life and imprubing life quality in these stage of women.
