ABSTRACT
Today‘s patients are demanding more and more esthetic work, particularly on previous restorations. The advent of dental adhesives, resin cements and reconstructive materials has made it easier to reconstruct endodonticallytreated teeth, and to do so more successfully. In this regard, pre-fabricated posts have proved to be more effective than cast posts; in turn, the most useful of the prefabricated posts have been the resin matrix (urethane dimethacrylate) coated fiber variety. In this study, we present horizontal posts consisting of polyfiber strands rooted in a flexible stainless steel mesh, which distinguishes them from other vertical fiber posts, which are affixed to a matrix. In keeping with the principle of minimally invasive dentistry, these posts are characterized by the fact that only the guttapercha is removed, with no further preparation of the canal being required. Furthermore, they can be applied to all teeth.REFERENCES
