ABSTRACT

Ocular burns produced by chemicals represent a true emergency, they are responsable of serious injuries. All this burns require inmediate and profuse irrigation followed by referral to an ophtalmologist. Classification enable the specialist to determine the severity of the injury and the prognosis for the injured eye. The prognosis has improved over the last decade because of the understanding of corneal epithelium physiology and surgical techniques.
