Weight increase in children younger than two years old exclusively breast-fed, and Rafael Ramos Galvan’s anthropometric records

ABSTRACT

Study observational, descriptive, retrospective, no comparative, cross and open, its objective is to de­termine the increment weight of the children less than two months of age fed to the exclusive mater­nal breast, in relation to the anthropometrics regis­trations of Rafael Ramos Galván. I am carried at the end of April first from 1998 to May 31, 1999, among the population rightful claimant of the clinic of Regional Gral. Ignacio Zaragoza.
Were included children with exclusive diet to the maternal breast since the birth, from 37 to 41 weeks of gestation. Children of mothers with ges­tation noncomplicated, obtained vaginal way or sit-up without complications and that did not include pathological antecedents, without consumption of medicines by them or their mothers.
The data were obtained by the investigator of the registrations of the lactation clinical maternal, for their harvesting themselves employment a de­cree of filled and subsequently they were compared with the boards anthropometrics of Rafael Ramos Galván, for the statistical analysis themselves em­ployment the Chi square.
The increment weigh was observed from the first month of age with a statistically significant growth rate p › 0.05; this increment was greater upon presenting in the boards anthropometrics of reference.
In conclusion, the mother’s milk is the ideal food for the growth optimize of the newborn.
