Angiomyolipoma, renal tumor.

ABSTRACT

The presence of angiomyolipoma in the renal tumors has a very low incidence. 80% of the patients with angiomyolipoma do not tuberous sclerosis syndrome. This tumor usually is asymptomatic, it depends of the tumor size to present clinical manifestations. The presence of even a small amount of fat within a renal lesion on CT scan, virtually excludes the diagnosis of RCC and is considered diagnostic of angiomyolipoma.
Case report: Is a 41 years old female with history of urinary tract infections, which has been treated. She presented flank pain occasionally and microscopic hematuria. So study protocol begun, we found a right renal mass, compatible with angiomyolipoma. She underwent partial nephrectomy and the histopathological report angiomyolipoma. Definitive report shows the presence of a yellow node in the middle part, size 1.5x1.5 cm of clear cell carcinoma. Nowadays the patient is asymptomatic, under surveillance with out any recurrence.
