Integral care program for patients of lower limb amputees to improve the quality of care

ABSTRACT

Introduction: The rehabilitation of patients of lower limbs amputees is a process in which management includes physical, psychological, occupational and not a simple restitution of the amputee member. Methods: Observational, comparative, longitudinal study in 8 patients of both sexes aged 18 to 80 years of age with lower limb amputation infracondylar or supracondylar level. They were divided into 2 groups randomly. Evaluation is performed in the medical evaluation of the patient from initial consultation through the clinical records by physicians validated instrument of unity to all patients. Following the study group implemented a program of physical therapy and psychological treatment. The control group was sent to the traditional program that already exists in the Unit. At the end of therapy the patient was given a questionnaire to assess the medical, psychological and physical therapist performance.Results: At the end of integral program for patients of lower limb amputees has improve d the quality of care. Conclusion: The program of integral program for patients of lower limb amputees improved the quality of care.
