ABSTRACT

Halitosis has a significant social handicap. Is the result of microbial production of volatile sulphur compounds in the oral cavity, mostly on the tongue dorsum. Actually oral malodor clinics are appearing for the study and treatment of halitosis. In this review article we discuss about the oral and extraoral etiology of halitosis, the diagnostic methods and the efficacy and mechanisms of antimalodour approaches.
