ABSTRACT

The present investigation shows the development of the knowledge base of an expert system in oral pathology by means of the techniques provided both by Artificial intelligence and Knowledge engineering. The knowledge base reflects the information and experience of an expert in bucal pathology of the Dental School Faculty at the University of Carabobo, and leads to the most probable diagnosis, differential diagnosis, histopathology study and treatment of 38 bucal injuries, according to the signs and symptoms presented by the patient.
