ABSTRACT

The diagnosis of the Paget disease is a very rare affection that few orthopedists have opportunity to treat. The objective of this paper is to describe a clinical case, as well as the radiographic and laboratory findings related to this illness. It also describes the evolution of the patient after being surgically intervened with total cement less hip implant and the pre-surgical treatment with drugs such as bisphosphonates and paracetamol, as well as the serial determinations of the alkaline phosphatase in the blood as a parameter to measure the behavior of this osteopathy.
