ABSTRACT

Objective: To know the frequency and common clinical manifestations of this disease at a concentration hospital (Hospital Regional General Ignacio Zaragoza; ISSSTE), in Mexico City.
Materials and methods: Medical records of patients diagnosed with multiple myeloma during 2006 were revised. Frequency and clinical manifestations were evaluated in this particular group of patients.
Results: Twenty one medical records met inclusion criteria. No significant difference gender-related was observed. General symptoms, anemia and lytic bone lesions were the most common clinical manifestations.
Conclusions: The characteristics of our patients do not differ from those of other populations.
