ABSTRACT

Objective: To report our experience with the treatment of subjective tinnitus with vincamine.
Material and methods: Sixteen patients received treatment with 30 mg of vincamine oral, evaluating the response two months after the treatment. The tinnitus was measured with acuphenometry, subjective scale 1 to 10 and with the Tinnitus Handicap Inventory.
Results: The majority were female, with 42 to 73 years, a mean of 57.7 years. No adverse effects were observed.
Conclusions: The analysis demonstrated an improvement with the treatment; however no significant statistic improvement was seen.
